Switch to satellite mode. Scan for missing roads or roads that don’t align with the satellite view.

An easy way to identify misaligned roads is to go into Street View mode by clicking on the yellow pegman in the bottom right corner.
(Only certain countries have Street View available)Incorrectly mapped roads will be highlighted by the gaps in Street View coverage.

Not sure which road layout is correct? Cross-check with OpenStreetMap or other mapping sources before submitting an edit.
Manual road fixes typically have a low acceptance rate. Instead, a more efficient way of editing roads is through prompting.

Copy the GPS coordinates of the error by right-clicking and pressing the first option in the menu.

Find any yellow road that you will use for prompting. Yellow roads only appear in satellite mode.

To enter edit mode, right-click to open the menu, press “Report a data problem”, and then “Add or fix a road.”

Click on the yellow road in edit mode and scroll down to “Other.” Here, you will write the prompt. Be sure to include the location as well as a request to fix it.

Save the location so you can revisit it at a later date. An easy way is to use Google Docs.
